Like a Heartbeat… Drives you Mad

black on black + leopard coat

What I’m Wearing…

* Vintage leopard coat {made by my grandma in the ’60s}
* Old black turtleneck sweater
* Waxed chinos by 7 For All Mankind, similar skinny jeans here
* Black/gold ‘Painty’ sunglasses by Thierry Lasry
* Old winter white pashmina scarf
* Box bag by Sophie Hulme
* Quilted sneakers from Target

* Nails : Abstract Christmas Tree Manicure

* Title : lyrics from Fleetwood Mac ‘Dreams’

I love this outfit. It’s easy and I’ve worn some version of it a thousand times. It can be dressed up or worn casually and I’m loving it here with the quilted sneakers.

Can you believe that Christmas is in eight days?! What’s more though, is that a very new year will begin directly after, which is utterly blowing my mind. Sure it happens every year, but somehow, no matter how long each day feels, starting a new year seems too soon. It’s just another day, is generally my motto, but somehow this year has sort of come and gone in a flash and I’m not sure I’m quite done with it yet.

    Back in the seventies, I bought beautiful leopard furry fabric and pattern very similar to your coat. Well, all of these years later, I still have the fabric, using it as a sofa cover/throw. I never did make that coat. So every time I see your Grandma’s beautiful coat, it brings back memories of me, purchasing that fabric (in Texas, at the time). Wow, time passes so quickly. Anyway, love, love your Grandma’s coat.

    p.s. Always wishing that I would have had the ambition/time to actually make that coat. The fabric is indestructible, and it’s been laundered almost every couple of weeks since the seventies!
