Personal Story...

In 2003, when I was 27 years old and freshly single for the first time in my adult life, I moved from my house in the Hills into an apartment in the Valley with my cousin/best friend. I had just ended a 7 year relationship/engagement and was going through a major party-girl phase in my life... sewing my wild oats, so to speak, which was wildly fun but regrettable in many ways.
I wasn't looking for love, but ended up finding my soul mate living just downstairs. Over the year I lived there, we became best friends.

He proposed on my 30'th birthday and we eloped in 2006...

We have a black French Bulldog named LeRoy and a Pug named Bebop who we treat like children.

Though I've had many jobs throughout my life {actor, singer, makeup artist, designer -to name a few} I had been working as a freelance graphic/web designer since 1997 and for a contemporary art dealer since 2001. In 2007, I started a company called beSmartbeGreen and made cute and snarky canvas grocery bags to replace plastic bags to help reduce my carbon footprint.

Around the same time I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and had Chocolates Cysts on my ovaries. I had laparoscopic surgery to remove them in June and was told I was getting "cleaned out" to get my insides nice and ready for a baby.
Two months later, in August, I thought I was pregnant and I started a baby blog with some major excitement. I had wanted to be a mom more than I had wanted anything else in my life.
Turned out, I wasn't pregnant. But it also turned out that we were excited by the thought of having a baby so we started trying to conceive...
In the mean time, I started another blog called ...love Maegan as a sort-of creative outlet because I was bored with everything else in my life. And something strange and exciting happened... an ocean of creativity flooded into my life which I thought I had lost to my past. As cliche as it may sound, blogging helped me find myself again after losing my identity to a past life crippled by anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and an overall loss of faith in myself and the world around me.
Five years later, I am lucky to be able to blog full-time {from my home office} about fashion, my style {sharing style secrets}, DIYs, hair tutorials, my home & home decor, makeup and beauty finds, all the while trying to inspire creativity in others.

But I'm not just a fashion and DIY blogger. ...love Maegan is more of a "lifestyle blog". As a woman in her 30's, I'd hope to have more to offer than just pretty things, so I also talk about married life, my dogs, life in Los Angeles, and infertility.
And five years later we are still trying to have a baby.

But mostly, we try to stay positive and focus on the good things in our life. Instead of creating a baby, I've created a successful and fun career and had a rebirth of my own "self".

I'm in the midst of writing my first book, with a book deal in my pocket and really exciting projects in the works {which I cannot reveal just yet} but I can't wait to share them with you all.
I'd like to thank you for visiting, today, and always... I know it sounds cheesy but without my readers, I wouldn't be able to do what I love.

Fun Facts
* The husband and I both grew up in LA {in the Valley} and went to high schools about 5 minutes apart. We finally met when we were 27 but felt like we'd known each other our entire lives.
* I was in a Burger King commercial in 1994, a Secret Deodorant commercial in 1997 and a handful of others in between.
* I probably curse too much in person but rarely anymore on the blog ...as it tends to offend people ;)
* I MC'd at a Karaoke bar for many years... and most nights I worked, I was also d.r.u.n.k. and a total embarrassment to myself. Oh my 20's.
* I have the same birthday as Marilyn Monroe... which makes me feel special.
* I have 7 tattoos and 4 piercings {aside from my ears}... only 2 of my piercings remain.
* Politics absolutely infuriate me and I am quite positive that nothing is as it seems. Some would call me a conspiracy theorist. But what if it's true?
* I don't like beans. I love chocolate ice cream. I'm generally a picky eater. I hate cooking.
* I'm probably more of a dork than you might think ;)
* I use ";)" way more often than I probably should ;)
